Ylang by Heritage Line, Lan Ha Bay

This 3-day journey offers deep insights into Lan Ha Bay’s natural beauty
while providing an active and holistic wellness experience

Ylang, the latest member of Heritage Line’s ship collection in Lan Ha Bay, features a splendid blend of Asian-Vietnamese design with French-Colonial accents. This ancient flair of Indochina emanates throughout the vessel with a delicate floral leitmotif inspired by local poetry and related to the four seasons of the year. Local artisans contributed to Ylang’s decoration with hand-crafted paintings and artwork using various materials and techniques. All suites are dedicated to a particular blossom which typically represents a season in Vietnam. All this creates an inimitable sense of bliss and an exceptional abode at sea.

Ylang has only ten spacious suites on two decks – each room is flooded with natural light pouring in through floor-to-ceiling panoramic doors which open onto a private balcony. What makes Ylang unique, is her expansive spa with its extensive selection of thoughtfully selected treatments. The focus on wellness lives on in the more dynamic activities such as “singing bowl” meditation or early morning Tai Chi lessons on the upper deck.

Launch: Nov 2018 | Capacity: 20 passengers/10 cabins | Cruise Duration: 3 days 2 nights

Customer Reviews

The YLang is the latest of Heritage Line vessels and cruise manager Joy ensured that all guests were very well attended to in all details. We took the 3D2night cruise and were reluctant to disembark at the end! The mix of activities from the village cycle tour to the kayak and private beach excursion plus rain forest walk were all excellent inclusions. Joy uses discretion where she can to tailor activities and we we able to take a cave tour which we enjoyed; our teenager listed this as a favourite! We were blown away by the quality of the meals. The chef knows flavours that’s for sure! The whole vessel is spacious and the cabins well appointed and roomy. Every cabin has a private balcony and the views from our private suite of Ha long bay will remain with us for a long time. On the top deck is a decent size pool (considering the size of the vessel) which was a fabulous place to watch the sunset, drink in hand. We made good use of the on board spa/massage services which are beautiful and to a high standard. The Heritage line do understand safety and customer service and their staff are very well trained; we would be very happy to do this all again - TripAdvisor.

Absolutely amazing trip on Ylang (3D, 2N) of Lan Ha Bay. It exceeded expectation time and time again. Having never been on a cruise before we were a little wary but would without hesitation plan a trip around a Heritage Line cruise again. The boat itself is stunning. The rooms are immaculate - the sitting area is spacious, bed is very comfortable, bathroom is huge and private balcony is amazing. The balcony was a fantastic place to sit and wind down before dinner each night and just watch the scenery go by. We never felt like we were on a boat when moored each night and slept incredibly well. The staff is absolutely fantastic - so attentive to very detail. They check in often (but not too often), quick to help with any questions/concerns you might have. We felt so well taken care of the entire trip. The excursions were fun: biking, nature walk/small cave exploration, kayaking & swimming. We especially enjoyed the kayaking- we paddled up to a private beach and were able to see Langurs in the cliffs above! The food was also very very good. There wasn't a meal that we didn't thoroughly enjoy. At no point were we ever hungry. There were always small snacks planned into the day. Drinks were reasonably priced - TripAdvisor.

We went on Ylang, it’s brand new, only started a couple weeks ago, and it was the best! The constant view of the mountains of Halong Bay was the absolute best! The comfort and luxury were impeccable and so was the staff, all so kind and helpfull, specially Joy and Tom. The food was exquisite. The tours on bike and car were amazing and the afternoon with the kayaks was memorable! Highly recommend if you want to discover Halong Bay! - TripAdvisor.
