Trip Reviews

I really enjoyed my visit. The mosaic room is beautiful and holds the King's throne and and the royal crowns - which are all very interesting and stunning. There are some beautiful objects throughout the palace which help us understand Laos culture and history a bit more. The royal temple, Haw Pha Bang is stunning - such beautiful, intricate designs and decorations. Take a look at the theatre inside the grounds while there (next to the lockers), there may be a show you can go to later on. If you're into learning about the Laos history, art and culture, I highly recommend this place. Also, be prepared to wear the same clothes you'd wear if visiting any other temple in this region (which is standard and a sign of respect anyway). Abby, Royal Palace Museum - TripAdvisor.

Kuang Si Waterfall is not just another overrated waterfall. It is truly stunning - a must see when in Luang Prabang. It is not only a place of outstanding natural beauty, it is also clean and well looked after. An added bonus (included in the entry fee) is the wonderful Free the Bears rescue centre, where you can see rescued sun and moon bears in a decent-sized enclosure (it's come a long way in the last 15 years). Many of these bears are released into a protected wildlife sanctuary not far from there. Kath, Australia - TripAdvisor.

Well worth visiting if you are in Luang Prabang, this was one of the best night markets I’ve visited in Asia. Good selection of items, though as you always do you will see lots of repetition as you walk through the market. Slightly awkward as everything is spread out on the floor versus in a booth so you have to get down to get a closer look and it is fairly narrow and cramped with people pushing by, welcome to the night market experience! Be prepared to haggle and make sure you try the coconut pancakes from one of the many street food vendors. Nicolas, The Night Market - TripAdvisor.
