Glimpse of Laos

See the best of Laos through a scenic cross-country train journey,
from the charming capital of Vientiane to the laidback Luang Prabang

Vientiane | Luang Prabang

Beautiful, beguiling, and easy-going, six days in Laos is the ideal amount of time for a first encounter with Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and its surrounding ethnic minority communities. Visit historical attractions, revel in magical natural scenery, and participate in community development as you observe ancient rituals and cultural practices.

Trip Reviews

The architecture is inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, but with a distinct Lao style and motifs. Visitors can climb to the top of the monument and enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Mekong River. Patuxay Vientiane is a must-see attraction for anyone who wants to learn more about the history and culture of Laos. Janun, Australia - TripAdvisor.

This temple is absolutely beautiful, very old wall paintings which are stunning plus hundreds of tiny buddhas in alcoves both inside the temple and in the walls outside. There are also lots of Buddhas around the temple which are all ages and sizes and have come from many different locations across Laos. Linda, Wat Si Saket - TripAdvisor.

Kuang Si Waterfall is not just another overrated waterfall. It is truly stunning - a must see when in Luang Prabang. It is not only a place of outstanding natural beauty, it is also clean and well looked after. An added bonus (included in the entry fee) is the wonderful Free the Bears rescue centre, where you can see rescued sun and moon bears in a decent-sized enclosure (it's come a long way in the last 15 years). Many of these bears are released into a protected wildlife sanctuary not far from there. Kath, Australia - TripAdvisor.

I highly recommend going there!!! The business is run by a family and some locals from their village and they are incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is really familiar and you get plenty of patient help if you are not a natural talent in pottery. Afterwards, you can talk and enjoy some delicious fruits and tee. It was one of my best experiences in Luang Prabang. Clara, Pottery House - TripAdvisor.
