Jasmine by Heritage Line, Halong Bay

Discover the magical waters of Halong Bay aboard Heritage Line's
classic junk-style boat with exceptional services and fantastic activities

Halong Bay

Heritage Line’s Jasmine is the gracious, amiable sister of Halong Bay. Visitors looking for both comfort and adventure in Halong Bay will appreciate the Jasmine’s friendly crew and understated elegance. With 23 cabins, Jasmine is built in the style of a traditional Vietnamese junk, with three tawny sails and dark wood-cladding. Jasmine’s interiors, like the exterior, are covered in polished wood, lending Jasmine the stately air of an Indochina-era cruising boat. Guests can convene in the formal dining room, enjoy casual barbecues on the terrace and marvel at the bay’s moonlit beauty on Jasmine’s wide Sundeck. After days spent learning Tai Chi, kayaking, and visiting local fishing villages, visitors can enjoy various traditional massage treatments. Heritage Line prides itself on exceptional service and Jasmine is no exception. Jasmine’s experienced crew does their utmost to showcase the Bay’s indescribable wonders.

We had a long stopover in Hanoi so decided to do a cruise on Halong Bay. We couldn't have chosen better. The staff were friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The dining area was spacious so we didn't feel we were surrounded by other people, good selection of beer, wine and cocktails. The food was delicious and plentiful with up to 5 courses and a BBQ/buffet one night. The seafood was fresh and mouth watering. The boat was clean with a relaxing and spacious interior and deck area. Shore excursions included being rowed around the bay or kayaking for the more agile. We saw amazing views and limestone caves. We spent a day with Lisa one of the guides on the day boat. She is the perfect guide, engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. After a day out I booked a massage. 60 minutes of total relaxation. Quite possibility the best massage I've ever had. I highly recommend this cruise. Everything was taken care. Robyn, Australia - TripAdvisor.

We recently spent 2 nights 3 days on the Jasmine cruise with our 4 kids and it was amazing. We had 2 rooms opposite each other which were spacious enough to accommodate 3 people in each. Both rooms had a large ensuite and balcony. The food on the Jasmine was great. The buffet catered well for even our fussiest eater. We all enjoyed the cooking demonstration each night. All the organized activities were really enjoyable. I highly recommend staying the second night as you get to see the most amazing cave which makes the cave on day one seem obsolete! Our kids really enjoyed the Kayaking on day 2 as well. They loved spotting monkeys on the beach. There are no TVs or WiFi on board ( which is a nice break ) so I do recommend packing a book or something for kids. Mine enjoyed playing chess and scrabble but a packet of cards would have been handy. The staff were exceptional. They even organized a birthday cake for my daughter 15 mins before we boarded. I visited with teenage boys and friends and we did the overnight cruise in Halong Bay.The boat and staff were fantastic and the food was amazing. You definitely won’t go hungry! The weather was a bit rainy which we expected. We went to the floating village and the caves and did the sampan boat. The following morning we did Ti Top Island. The view from the top was great but it was slightly ruined by the number of boats all arriving at the same time and queuing to climb up the steps and come back down. The scenery was fantastic but it is very commercial with a huge number of boats in the bay. I would however recommend Jasmine Junk if you want to do an overnight cruise. Pam, UK - TripAdvisor.

The 3.5 hour drive from Hanoi certainly proved worthwhile with the Heritage Line cruise on Jasmine. Very comfortable cabins tastefully furnished with an oriental feel. Meals were buffet extravaganzas with an amazing array of choice. Staff were exceptional - could not do enough for you and genuinely seemed interested and attentive. And the inclusions of kayaking or visiting the fishing village, the caves, and the beach area were all great. We were fortunate that occupancy of the 23 cabins was only about half but we did enjoy meeting other guests. Overall a wonderful experience in an incredibly picturesque part of the world.
