Phokeethra Country Club has been recognised as Cambodia’s Golf Course of the Year 2025 by World Golf Awards.
As the first golf course in Siem Reap, Phokeethra Country Club has long been a pioneer in Cambodia’s golfing scene. Located just minutes from the historic temples of Angkor Wat and managed under the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, Phokeethra Country Club has consistently set the benchmark for golf in Cambodia.
Designed to challenge and inspire golfers of all skill levels, the 18-hole, par-72 championship course spans lush landscapes and serene waterways, blending Cambodia’s natural beauty with strategic course design. Each hole presents a unique challenge, culminating in the signature 18th — a dramatic finale that demands precision and leaves a lasting impression on golfers.
Beyond its exceptional course design, the club preserves a piece of Cambodian history: the Roluos Bridge, an 11th-century architectural marvel used in the past as a vital link for travelers. Adding to its historical significance, the club is also renowned as the home of the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open. From 2007 to 2010, the club hosted the world’s first annual Cambodian Open, a week-long tournament that drew top Asian and international professional golfers to Cambodia, further establishing the country on the global golfing map.
Phokeethra Country Club is committed to preserving the natural beauty of its surroundings while offering a world-class golfing experience. In collaboration with the Cambodian Bird Guide Association, the course serves as a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, with more than 70 bird species identified on site.
Sustainable practices are integrated into daily operations — from the exclusive use of organic fertilizers and solar-powered facilities to responsible waste management and recycling initiatives. The club also supports the local community by sourcing fresh, organic ingredients through partnerships with Agrisud and Eggscellent, promoting both environmental stewardship and local livelihoods.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team,” said Jake Dudley, Golf Operations Manager of Phokeethra Country Club. “We take great pride in offering a golf experience that not only meets international standards of excellence but also honours Cambodia’s rich natural and cultural heritage. Our continued focus on sustainability and community partnerships reflects our belief that great golf should always go hand in hand with responsible practices.”
As Cambodia’s Best Golf Course 2025, Phokeethra Country Club celebrates a legacy of excellence and innovation. Guests are welcomed to enjoy a premier golfing experience that harmonizes sport, history, and sustainability at every turn.
