The Jahan by Heritage Line, Mekong River

Experience the Mekong aboard Heritage Line’s most romantic ship
evoking the splendour of the British Indian Raj era.

Siem Reap | Phnom Penh | Mekong River

Feel the romance and opulent grandeur aboard Heritage Line The Jahan as it makes its way through the lower Mekong River on 3, 4, and 7 night journeys. Named after Shah Jahan, noteworthy for his commission of the iconic Taj Mahal, the boat captures a nostalgic moment in time long since past, when British discernment first met the vibrancy and elegance of Indian culture. 26 spacious cabins adorned in shades of cream, dusty red and burnt orange compliment the deep brown wooden fixtures, hand-painted tiles, four-poster beds, and balconies drenched in tropical sunlight. The Darjeeling and Ceylon signature suites include additional decorations to enchant guests, from ornate treasure chests handmade indigo blue ornaments, while the Lord Byron and The Taj noble suites offer private balcony jacuzzies to enjoy.

In addition to the atmospheric cabins, The Jahan boasts a stunning sundeck swimming pool, a spa with steam room, fitness center, and a wealth of exquisite dining opportunities from British-inspired afternoon teas to live cooking stations and sumptuous breakfast buffets. The shortest voyage is a three-night trip linking Saigon and Phnom Penh, while the longest, a 7-night journey between Saigon and Siem Reap, is aptly titled “The Lost Civilisation”, combining places rarely seen with the region’s most impressive historical sites.

Customer Reviews

I just wanted to let you know that our Mekong cruise was amazing, it met our expectations and more. The boat, the staff, the food were excellent, the activities were all well planned, and interesting. The travel guides gave the river and the people who lived on it an informative and personal commentary. We were sad to get off the boat. 🫶 We loved the New World hotel in Saigon, not so keen on the Renaissance Riverside, but that is based on the breakfasts which are amazing at the New World, and their gym facilities. Glenys Thomas, The Jahan, Dec 2023.

We had a fantastic time, the service is out of this world, our suite had floor-to-ceiling windows opening to our private balcony so we could sit and watch the life on the Mekong river it was a fascinating cruise with lots of activities and interesting lectures, and we even had a private Khmer cookery class. Soren, Spain - TripAdvisor.

We have just completed a three night trip from Phnom Penh to My Tho on the Heritage lines vessel The Jahan, what an experience, having done a couple of Viking river cruises and a trip up the Amazon have to say that this was superior to Viking, the rooms were massive and showers were better than most hotels we have stayed in, food was of 5 star quality and the chefs have to be congratulated on keeping all 51 guests and 40 staff totally happy. Recommend this trip highly could not fault it at all - TripAdvisor.
